Speed Indication Devices

The Parish council own two of these devices which are moved around the Parish regularly.  Sometimes they will be in 30mph areas but often they are placed on 40mph roads where speeds approaching the signs can be high.  You may see them fitted but not displaying a speed and smiley or angry face.  This is because we sometimes need to record the speed of traffic when no warning is given to approaching vehicles.  The data downloaded from the signs is passed to our Clerk by our contractor and it is discussed at each monthly meeting of the Parish Council.

Locations where we are seeing regular excessive speed are passed to our Neighbourhood Police Team for appropriate action.  We do notice an increase in speeding vehicles in the morning at school run time!

The devices do not record registration numbers of vehicles.
